In 1993, Gary and Robert B. Pamplin, Jr. started together with the purchase of six Christian Supply stores in the Portland, Oregon area. They then added Pamplin Music Company, Pamplin Entertainment, Pamplin Distribution, and Pamplin Broadcasting.

By 2001, Christian Supply had expanded to twenty-one stores, Pamplin Music and Distribution was the fourth largest Christian Music Company in the country, and Pamplin Broadcasting was operating six radio stations.

During the first eight years, the company experienced extra ordinary growth.

In March 2001, Gary made the decision to sell his stock and retire from Pamplin Communications so he could focus on other projects.

Paul Scott, son-in-law to Robert B. Pamplin, Jr., was named as Randall's successor.
